In pure Ethernet networks, the S6080M dramatically increases total available bandwidth, and reduces congestion on local segments. By using the 1000Mbps links it delivers high-speed access which eliminates 10Mbps 100Mbps bottlenecks of servers and shares resources from backbone segments more effective. The S6080M also features store-and forward switching with zero-packet-loss back pressure and flow control to optimize packet reliability.
